Tampa pool construction costs increased in the first and second quarters of 2020 in the Tampa pool market.
That’s when lumber prices doubled in less than four months.
This matters in new pool construction since a considerable amount of lumber is used in forming concrete pool structures. Soon after that there were unwarranted price increases by suppliers of other construction materials and pool components.
Suppliers blamed the increasing price acceleration on how Covid was impacting the economy and the supply chain. This was an issue from 2020 through 2022. Now Covid is no longer a major threat, and the supply chain is returning to normal.
Manufacturers and distributors of major pool components, for the first time ever, are offering trivial price reductions and rebates. For Tampa area we are predicting modest price reductions for pool construction in 2025.
Also of note, pool buyers are now qualifying for home improvement loans from major banks. This is good news for prospective pool buyers who couldn’t get a pool loan when Covid and the weak economy was an issue.
